Nike love a bit of Lunar, but rather than padding the soles of their footwear, the brand have found inspiration in Manchester City’s Blue Moon anthem for the design of their brand new away kit.
Adding a lunar graphic to the sleeves of the navy blue kit, the strip is inspired by the fans who proudly sing the club’s official/unofficial anthem Blue Moon, with its subtly contrasting sleeves and shoulders and electric blue detailing. The electric blue trims the back of the crewneck collar and adorns the flanks of the shirt and shorts as a slim stripe.
To launch the new kit, Nike grabbed fan Louie Joyce and took him to Australia to meet the team on their pre-season tour where he officially presented Raheem Sterling and co. with the strip they’re to wear way from home in the upcoming campaign.
