With AC Milan out in Shanghai to build fitness and match sharpness ahead of the new season, the club also took the opportunity to acknowledge their Chinese fans by using the trip to unveil their brand new away kit.

The strip, which was worn to great affect by Philippe Mexes who bagged a Vine inspired long range volley against rivals Inter Milan in a friendly run-out on Saturday in the International Champions Cup, was designed by adidas with an eye on the always ahead of trend style of the Italian city. The white jersey, which features a V-neck collar and a special pattern on the front, are all consistent with the styles of AC Milan and Casa Milan, the brand new Rossoneri headquarter, with the red striped pattern inspired by images which are ‘shuffled over time’ and are a symbol of dynamism and movement.

The shirt’s detailing, the adidas logo and three stripes, are grey, while the shirt’s sleeve cuffs and hem are both dark red. Tagged with the Italian tricolor, like all AC Milan kits for the 2015/16 season, the design pays tribute to Expo2015, with Milan playing host to the world exhibition from May to October, attracting visitors from all over the world.
