Tottenham Hotspur are getting ready to begin their exciting new Mauricio Pochettino era, and to mark the new dawn at White Hart Lane the club have released their new home and away kits for the 2014/15 campaign today.

Inspired by the 10th anniversary of the passing of one of the club’s greatest icons, Bill Nicholson, the kits have been designed around one of the former player and manager’s most famous quotes. The home and away strips both reference Nicholson’s epic Tottenham mantra, “It is better to fail aiming high than to succeed aiming low. And we Spurs have set our sights very high, so high in fact that even failure will have in it an echo of glory”

The traditional lilywhite home shirt is offset by a navy blue, horizontal stripe running across the chest, while a new Jacquard pattern runs across its shoulders, with the words “Echo of Glory” which together with a pattern inspired by the famous Bill Nicholson gates, serve as a worthy tribute to the late, great Tottenham legend.

The away kit features a dark shirt with 11 yellow stripes that run down the front of the strip, which signify the number of trophies won under Nicholson’s reign, another nod to the legendary coach and player’s influence over the club, it was under his reign that Spurs first wore yellow in their kits. In addition to the commemoration of this success, the shirt features the gates of White Hart Lane on the neck tape.
